where to buy a cam+lifter kit

I'm looking at getting a melling torque cam, i believe col flashman has the one i'm looking at. It's a 204/214 duration @ .050.

Does anyone have a good online webpage i could order the cam and lifter kit from?

You can call paw performance, one of their SSI camshafts, has the same specs, with the adv. duration being less, this could mean nothing, as a cam provider can list it as what ever they wish, if its measured at the same point as the mellings camshaft, then this is better.

Listed for $59.95 in my catalog, less lifters.

part number 11319

818-678-3000

You may have better luck getting a clevite camshaft, the one they offer is the same as well, this cam design really got around huh? Northernautoparts . com might be able to help you out with getting a mellings or clevite brand.

thanks motorhead.

i went to the melling webpage before but thought it was just one of those generic company webpages that you can't buy anything from. Missed the catalogue link!

Thanks for that part number too for PAW magazine. Will probably come in handy.

Have a good one.

I should point something out...they (paw, ssi, would imagine mellings) list the lobe lift as being .280 int, .295 exh and the lift at the valve, as being .451/.475...doesn't take long to multiply that by 1.6 and realize it comes up short, appears they used a ratio of 1.6101694915254......, why I don't know but thought I would throw that out there, not that a .01 would make that much difference.

Good luck

oh my lord. how do i cancel my order?

You would think if they were going to round a bit, they would round the other way to allow for valve train flex, mainly at the stamped rocker arms. I think Silver Streak measure the flex to be quite a bit, and i trust him, he's a good measurer.
