Clutch Replacement price

When I towed my mothers truck in for the estimate, he said they charge $42/hour to replace a clutch, but $77/hour to replace a tranny. What kind of sense does that make. Total price to have a new clutch and tranny installed was $1852.

Different rates for different jobs? Never heard of that. Trust me on this one, they ain't makin' no money at $42/hr. No way unless they are paying some hack less than $10/hr to do the work. I wouldn't trust a shop that says they charge $42. They obviously don't put much value on their work.
