Having a problem getting the left door window to align properly in the channels. I am replacing the back channel and lower felt wipes. Does anyone have a suggestion for alignment that will keep me from ruining another window run channel and lower felt wipes?
Need a little more info on what the problem might be. Is it too tight or not staying aligned as it travels up and down? How did it ruin the previous channel and wipes?
Are you using the stock regulators? I hadn't paid much attention to the stock regulator adjustability since I put in power windows, but I'd try leaving any and all adjustments loose, put the window all the way up, check it for equal clearance front and rear then tighten the adjustments. The front separator bar can also be adjusted if the channel is too tight for the glass.
I notice from your gallery that the truck is a 54 F100. (Nice looking truck, BTW). I suggest (strongly) that you get a Shop Manual. It will show and tell all about the window mechanism and trouble shooting. Most of us here find that they are indispensible. Matching your setup to the manual will tell all.
I would bet that the window crank mechanism is not seated properly. If the arm isn't set true, it will raise the window in a binding motion. That's just a guess, tho. Trouble shoot it with a manual. They are avaialable thru MotorHaven (one of our sponsors). Look at the top of the 48-60 Forum page where some of the sponsors are listed, then click on "click here for full list". You'll find their name.
Good luck.

Thanks to all for the advice. I do have and used my shop manual. Could not have done all the work to date without it. I am using the stock window regulator and checked it for damage. I am going to follow everyone's advice and go back to work on it today. The window binds just as it ereaches the lower portion of the door frame where the lower felts wipes are mounted. Someone suggested I try checking the opening to see if it has been bent or collasped through use. Again thanks for the respones will let you know of my success.
If the opening is tight there front to rear, try adjusting the lower end of the separator bar forward. Loosen, push forwards retighten. Make sure the vent window still seats afterwards. If you unhook the window from the regulator and slide it up and down by hand it should be very obvious where the problem lies.
