what axle?

I found a rear axle under a 74 ford that has square tubing like a rockwell but instead of facing up and down like all rockwells ive seen it faces front to back.It doesnt have a diff. cover it looks like a huge 9in with square tubing so im figuring its a military axle but not sure any help would be appreciated thanks.

Pics? Otherwise, i can take a random stab and say its an older GMC 2.5ton axle

Could be an eaton axle out of a chev, but those i belive were round tubing for the axle tubes.

sorry no pics just happened to see it this morning when i was driving by and asked its in a runnung truck so its good and the guy said i could have it for $50 if i pull it.So i figured its a good deal just dont know what it is to see my gear options

yes, eatons have round tubes....could be an old gmc 2.5 ton like stroker said

Anyone know where i can find a pic of the gmc 2.5 ton ive tried google and ebay for one with no luck.
