Transfer case

How often should you replace the oil in your transfer case and how hard is it?

Hanes manual recommends 24,000 miles although most people wouldn't do it that often. As far as changing it, there is usually big plugs in the back, like a big bolt. There is one towards the bottom of the t-case that is for draining it and then there is one towards the top that is for refilling it, once it starts pouring out the top hole, then it is full. Both bolts are usually the same wrench size and whatnot so its not hard to find them. What year is your truck?
