yep it's all the same stuff. Usually I don't see those lasting that long and I'm suprised that yours did. Mine has 111,000 and just recently replaced the shifter bushings because they were shot and I also fixed the leaking plugs while I was in there, so I'm hoping that will make it last a lot longer till I can get a zf.
Keeping the M5R2 full and taking care of the three leaking rubber plugs seem to be the secret to making these transmissions last--just from reading the threads on the website.
Thanks for the reply guys.I just picked up the tranny and t-case,everything seems nice and tight.Gonna replace those troublesome rubber plugs before she goes back in.
make sure to put some rtv around them and let it setup overnight. I also read somewhere on here that some people have used 5/8" freeze plugs. The only reason you need those plugs is so you can get the shifter rails in and out but if I'm going to goto that much trouble I'd probabally just get another tranny anyways.
Also make sure before you pull the top cover off that the transmission is in neutral, it will make the job a whole lot easier. The directions on here says to leave it in first but it's just wrong and needs to be updated. When I was doing mine I left it in first gear but when you put the shifter back in it doesn't line up and will not shift and I messed with it all evening untill the next day I somehow thought what if I put everything into neutral so I slid the synchronizers back one and put the shifter into neutral and everything went back together like a piece of cake.
