Well, you would think so, but if Ford could grab more mileage by putting a bigger tire or a higher gear in the rear I think they would. I don't where the guys with 3.55 axles do better than 3.73's?? They spend millions to get their CAFE up as high as possible. But then again they do have to reach a happy medium so the trucks have some ***** to tow. But the EPA really doesn't care what mileage they get towing.
dont remember if I responded to this.... I contention is that highway would improve, however city driving, in which we do more of would tank.. thus overal average would decrease...thus they shouldn't offer this as it would get around 11 in town as compared to the crappy 14 I get now..
U guys... I am running 315/70R17 BFGs (34,5" high) on stock wheels (17"x7.5") and a 2.5" Daystar leveling kit.
No probs here, there is a slight (very little) rub in full turn with the frame, nothing to worry about.
U could also go with the GoodYear 305/70R17 MT/R (34") and no rub at all, even w/o a leveling kit
