I got to thinking the other day that I'd like to have a compass/temp overhead console in my Ranger like I do in my van. Wondering if the Ranger had that as an option, I poked around ebay. Lo and behold, Ford did make an overhead console for the Ranger with map lights, temp/compass, etc. Now for my questions:
1. Anyone ever retrofit one of these?
2. How does it mount?
3. Is the same headliner used, or do I need to replace that too?
4. Where/how do you get your power supply?
5. Where does the temp sensor mount?
6. Is it a big job to run the wiring for the ext. temp sensor, or am I lucky and Ford already ran the wiring for me?
They will fit the rangers. I want to do this mod myself but had the same questions about the temp sender and mounting. It would be great if you get some feedback on this.
I think it's going to be a soon-to-get present for me.
Poking around here I was attracted to the idea, but I finally saw a picture, and now I'm poking around boneyards in the area for random stuff. I figure the first good looking one I stumble across that matches my trim I'm buying.
