Question AUX light switches

Brothers and Sisters,

I am looking for good options for Aux (Driving/Fog/Off-Road) light switches imy '06 F-350 SC. I am trying to minimize/eliminate any drilling, etc., as it kills me to drill a hole in my new truck. Any experience, lesons learned, or bolt on products will be appreciated. I am adding a Buckstop Bumper with a winch, and driving lights to my truck.

Thanks,

59Shift

Well, I know you don't want to drill but that is what I did on mine for both the lights and the ARB's and compressor.

For the lights, I drilled 3 holes in the small trim to the left of the steering wheel. They are kinda hidden behind the directional lever, but look very neat none the less. I don't have any pics of those.

For the ARB's and compressor, I mounted them on the lower dash panel. Here's a picture of these.

I pretty much just make sure it's a panel that is easily replaceable if I'm not happy.

If it's an 06, why not just add the Upfitter switches in? I believe the data to do that is in the tech folder, and it'll provide you with four OEM switches with no drilling of holes.

Or am I missing something here?

You could put them on the fuse panel underneath the steering column and just replace that panel if you ever need to get rid of the holes

Aux light switches

All,

Thanks for the advice. Keep it coming. I will look into the Upfitter switches. Are these something available from the dealer.

I plan on wiring in the lights in the recessed light buckets with the existing driving light switch and was thinking of wiring the lights on the light bar in with the high-beams with an override switch to turn them on/off independent of the high-beam. I drive a lot of rural roads and figured this would give me the best visability for livestock/wildlife while allowing the aux lights to be extinguished when switching back to low-beams for oncoming traffic. I am thinking this would work better than shuffling for an aux switch every time I encounter traffic. Any pros/cons?

Thanks,

59, check this thread:
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...d.php?t=340401

Can't say for certain that the part numbers are the same, but it's highly likely. And, you can't look much more OEM than real OEM stuff!

Also, I've posted some simple relay configurations (if you're not so inclined) to allow for a driving light "enable/disable" when triggering off the high-beam switch. Personally, I've got a million switches in my truck anyway, so I just switch using a separate switch (I don't even activate the factory brights when I kick the big stuff on).
