I have a 1996 F-150 with a 302cid. I am wanting to remove the cat's or hollow them out. My only question is I have an oxygen sensor before the first cat and one after the second cat. Does anyone know if this will cause problems for the computer?

It certainly will but you do not seem too concerned because you want to take them off. You will not find the magic HP boost you are looking for. That is a closed loop engine and seldom to radical changes bring a good outcome.
Unlike most I am not looking for a huge Hp boost. My cats are just starting to plug and I did not really want to have to drop the money into the cats. I am just a fan of old school engines a how beautiful they sound without restriction. If they wiil cause computer faults and running issues I won't be removing anything. Will this removal cause faults or just never runs in closed loop?
i removed both cats on my 96 and put mil on the 2nd o2 sensor, runs like a charm.. sounds good too.. but havent had a problom running it that way, even took it to autozone day before yesterday becuse my check engine light came on and it was the bank 1 sensor 1 that went out, and the o2 with the mil on it was reading fine.
Not 100% sure what the MIL eliminator is. I have heard of a part that plugs into the harness to take the place of down stream O2 sensors. Is this what you are talking about? I will be trying this soon.
I was also wondering where I could pick up one for my truck?! I am more into the plug and go not having to cut and solder. I would just like to be able to put it back to stock if I had to.
yeah guys, I have an 87 250 with a 302 in it and I punched out the cat, (basically a straight pipe now) and I didn't do anything with the o2 sensor, it runs pretty good but not as good as it should (rebuilt engine). Can someone explain what a MIL is and where I can get one? And $$$ for one

You dont need one. Only '96+ trucks check for CAT efficiency.
The mil will do the trick, but I have seen trucks run without a check engine light and no cat as well. Both Dodges but still, everyone said it couldn't happen. One is a '96 with a 318 and true duals, the other is an '02 with single in, dual out. The '02 had the light on for about a week and it hasn't been on since. It might be worth is to have the mil elim sitting there and try it without first, you could always take it back.
Your under the OB2 spec (96 on) which requires two senders per / cat. Should you destroy the old cats you must replace with OB2 cats only should a test be needed. Carsound has high flow cats, I found when I installed them on a 95 OB1 spec V-8 vehicle there was just a "detectable difference" vs gutted cats. For what your trying to do for performance gains gutting cats isn't the way to go unless they are plugged up or a melted mess inside caused by a sick running motor. This may cost you more in the future to replace. I paid $52 each out the door for 2 1/4" Carsound cats as Calif has strict smog laws.
