Smile Camshaft Replacement
When replacing the camshaft in a Ford 352, is there a pin that holds it in place to keep it from moving and if so where is it located?

nope. just the retainer that bolts to the front of the block.. not coming out?

Some of the very early 352's used a different system. What year is it?

most use 2 big phillips head screws

those screws can be a pita! I use a pair of pliers or something similar on the screwdriver handle for extra leverage.

i just grab the heads with a vise grip. i replaced them with grade 8 bolts.

I use a hand held, hit it with a hammer impact driver, had bought it originaly to work on motorcycles, but always comes in handy on those screws

I found that the impact screwdriver works the best too, i just had to remove a cam in a 360 4 days ago. Those bolts can be a pain!
