Instrument cluster problems !

Hi everyone,

My instrument cluster in not working propertly. I install a new HU on my ford explorer EB 1995 and since I've played there, it is not working.

On the instrument cluster, I've checked the plug on the back and they are plug OK. The instrument cluster has light, battery light is working when starting and the airbag too. The oil gage work too. When I use the 4X4, hi or low, it is working, but the light is not working. Here what is not working:

speedometer,
RPM,
fuel level
the temperature.

Anyone have an idea on my problem ?

I would go back over the wiring diagram and make sure you did not get something on the radio side wrong. If you are feeding power back to the instrument panel, you could have problems. I don't have a schematic with me, but one of the wires on the radio plug is tied to the instrument panel and parking light switch.

Any idea ?

Instrument dimming, is it linked to instrument cluster ?

Yes - instrument dimming is tied to the cluster also...

I had the same problem and took it to the dealer and they found some wire damage behind the dash, $298.10 bucks later it was fixed.

What do they changed on yours ? Which wires ?

If the instrument dimmer is not linked to the instrument cluster, it is maybe that the problem ? I think it is going throught the GEM module...on the left corner of the radio ?
