I went with a 01 f350 10.5" out of a powerstroke. Rear disks factory, bolted up to my 79 f150 springs, and the shock mounts can be easily moved by unbolting it and turning. i did have to modify my factory prop. valve. I used a 79 f350 MC and booster, and an aftermarker adjustable prop valve for the rear. When i did my 4.88's, i bought gears for a 10.25", and a locker, and away i went. Apparently with the change in gear sets, you get a stronger, bigger pinion bearing. I did have to use 1" wheel adapters to keep it all the same bolt pattern, but it evened out just fine with the front diff being just a bit wider then the rear to begin with. Last time i saw specs on the diffs, the 10.25/10.5" were above a D70 i believe.

well i allready have a dana 70 with 5.13 gears and an air locker , out of a 76 E350 van and was just wondering if any of the dodge parts would work on mine to change it to rear disc's since they used the old bolt pattern ?
