EGT at 1350 deg.

I've had the trucks to the FAILURE point on the dyno (not meaning engine failure, but failure to accelerate because of intense load).
The dual eddy currents on the superflow can simulate more load than you will ever tow......that tow program is safe and really makes the most power under load. Part throttle power becomes extremely apparrent under load, too.
I have a Preditor tuner on an 05 6.0l and was pulling an 11,500# 5er up a long 8% grade, WOT, in Colorado this summer and with a "cat back" and AFE, the EGT's registered close to 1350 deg. for almost a minute at the top of the grade. Is this acceptable? This truck runs so great, but I don't want to hurt it. I towed 8000 mi. on the trip and never saw above 1250 deg. except for that one time.

There are members of this board that have held it at much greater than 1350....

I couldn't see any problem with it at all.

Thanx you guys for the pat on the head. I do have another problem tho, my wife don't want to drive her Lexus anymore and is always begging to drive the truck. She is a leadfoot and I have often wondered what she does with that Predator in there, when she gets a block or two down the street. She does go to the grocery store awful quick.

It is INCREDIBLY diffucult to melt down an engine when unloaded, even with ridiculous tuning. It honestly takes a real moron to do it ( )

Wink question about the edge

hello, i just programed my 03 6.0 powerstroke with the edge evolution, i have no other mods at this time..anyway i tryed tunning with the first setting (60hp) drove it.. it was ok so i tried the max setting 100hp. i know not to do this with out exhaust mods, gauge, etc just want to drive it once to test. anyway wow.
but with both i was using the monitor on it to see temp(does not due exhaust) and boost, etc now i see that the turbo back pressure is about 15-17 at idle and i got it up to 52 ..i think... now that is not the boost is it ?? because i dont see how it can have 15 or so at idle ? i hope not i head you dont want you boost over about 30-32 on stock engine. so if it really went that high i hope i did not blow gaskets anyway ..more info from some one how knows more please
chad
p.s. i did put it bacvk on tow mode.. and under hard take off it feels like it has a little bit of a mis fire going on at about60mph ...little bit of surging and turbo fart at first.. oh ya what is line pressure for ? i seen that too
