That paint scheme is rainbow decals that come in the "free-wheeling" option.
In '77 some options were:
- optional push bar front bumper
- Rear step bumper
- Itegral air conditioning
- Am /Fm stereo
- rear slider window
- Bed tie down hooks (marine type)
- forged aluminum rims
- mag rims
- textured roof (with tu-tone paint)
- cruise control
- bed tool box (curb side on extended wheelbase models)
- 4 different styles of towing mirrors
- topper
- super-cooling package (trans. ,oil)
- auxillary batteries
- flip-open side glass on supercabs
- blackout grill
- ELECTRIC REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER ON REGULAR & SUPERCAB
- tint glass
- trailer options
- Northernland Special (auxilary heaters batteries etc.)
- Grill gaurd options
- lighting amber options
- conveinence group (just lights wre you wouldn't expect em)
- Fuel tank 2
- dual horns
- "bright" trims & moldings
Well thats just a chip off the ice -strait fom an ORIGIONAL '77 dealership broshure
This Beast has the tool box on the side of the bed but it also has the spare mounted under the rear tank. It appears to be stock. Do I have a jury rigged truck or is it original?
Thanks ,
Jeff

Back when I was in high school (I graduated in 1991) my first vehicle ever was a beautiful 1964 F-100 Styleside with a 292 V8 and 3 speed column shift. We'd gotten it from the original owner and he had done something quite similar to what you describe as the factory option in '67. There was a rectangular box containing an electric motor that mounted to the passenger door and mated with the stock splines on the window crank. He'd installed a switch on the dash within easy reach of the driver and the beauty of it was that it did not require replacement of the regulator or any other modifications to the door. I've never seen anything like it since, but would love to find out who made it and if it's still available. We were in VA at the time and the truck didn't have A/C so it was a most welcome addition during the summer!

I agree with the KISS principal. Most of the options in the above sound out of a volvo manual,or maybe Iam just jelous cause i have none of them.Mind you in Australia you need to be able to fix it on the side of the road or there is no point in having it.But that air conditioning option sounds good at this time of year.Iam just happy having a spare wheel.

Out of a Volvo manual???? Huh?
I'm assuming this must be an Aussie colloquialism for overly complex, but in all honesty my 245 Turbo with K-Jet is one of the best "modern" cars I've ever worked on.
Sorry, I digress - that one just threw me for a loop... :-staun

No, I've never seen it. Don't watch much TV though...too many car projects...and a new baby girl...
In all honesty the FWD Volvo's (Except perhaps an 855 T-5 R) leave me kind of cold - I much prefer my 245T or perhaps a slightly newer (90-91) 745T. Gotta' be a turbo though - my wife's '89 240DL is nice, but kind of "vanilla"...
