p.s. fluid 95 econoline
I have searched everywhere, and I can't seem to find a fluid recommendation for power steering fluid for my 95 van. I don't have the manual, of course. I recently siphoned the "real" power steering fluid out of my '01 superduty, and replaced it with the recommended mercon, and it helped out the steering quite a bit, and I was wondering if this would help my wandering problem with my van as well. Mercon or Type F/FA will work fine. Your power steering system is a hydraulic system so really any hydraulic fluid will work. I'd use the mercon. They used to specify type F when the trans took type F. My '79 LTD says to use mercon in both the trans and PS pump. So I guess it's up to you.

The owners manual for my '05 E150 calls for power steering fluid that "Meets Ford specification ESW-M2C33-F, such as Ford Premium PS Fluid, E6AZ-19582-AA or an equivalent Type F ATF with a Ford registration number (an 8-digit number beginning with "2P" printed on the fluid container)." Hope that helps.
Unfortunately, the only thing that helped the "wandering problem" on my van was a new steering drag link...@ $200.
