no problem, use 2V heads. if you really want torque you can stroke it to 393" or 408"

A 2V Cleveland is a good place to start even if the bottom end isn't as beefy as the 351M/400 or 351W. Cam selection is going to be critical to building power at low RPMs. Break open the piggy bank and get yourself a good dyno simulator program and start plugging in some different cam numbers.

The 351C is basically just a short stroke 400 so it will respond to camshaft changes the same way a 400 does. There's a list of cams that Tim Meyer put together for his 400 project here. All of these cams will fit a 351C as well but the only way to really get an idea of how the missing 49 cubes is going to affect your engine is to simulate them on a desktop dyno.

you do realize that the Cleveland bellhousing bolt pattern is different from your 400 bell bolt pattern? the Cleveland uses the same engine mounts as a 302/351W which are different from your 400 also. i don't know if your 400 frame perches will accept the 302/351W/351C mounts?
