460 passenger car or 460 truck engine any differences?
460 out of a 1986 f350 truck, can anyone tell me if there are any internal differences between this engine and a 460 out of a passenger car and would a 460 orginally out of a truck be more desireable for any reason for a truck swap?
460 passenger car or 460 truck engine any differences?
the dip stick on a car engine is located in the block on the front of th engine the dip stick on a truck engine is located in the oil pan if you can get the engine from a van as posted this would help the van has a rear sump pan which you need to install into a truck the van exhuast should clear the frame rails you may not need the headers from L&L or Headman but I would use the motor mounts I did this swap in my 76 crew and the mounts are money well spent

Yes. '79 and up are externally balanced

No. The only advantage to using a passenger car motor is if you grab a Pre '72. They boast 365Hp, 500# torque, where the later 460s have about 265hp?? The trucks usually do have better connecting rods though. They can be idenified by having football shaped heads, NOT square ones.
