4x4 Reviews
For instance, I'm trying to research the Escape a little bit. I tried the Escape forum here, but no one can give me a straight answer about the actual four wheel drive part of things. I've tried all the four wheel mags online, and I refuse to read anything put out by those japan lovers at consumer reports. There's a few other 4x4 sites out there that I've tried, but enlighten me on your resources.
The difference is that most trucks are considered as having a manual "part time" 4WD system while an AWD vehicle is often seen as having an automatic "full time" 4WD system.

It's engine sits sideways under the hood. If that is not enough ...
It is basically a FWD mini-van (or Subaru Outback type vehicle if you will) that seats five and has the option of AWD (don't look even for something as "hefty" as a rear 7.5 axle here). Meant for on-road use only. Riding on 31s though the woods climbing over tree trunks is not on this vehicles menu, though I am sure someone will try it.
If you think you will need a real 4x4 for off-road, plowing,or towing, at least go with an Explorer. They are about both the same size on the interior (read you would not want to sit in back if over 5'8"). Though the Explorer at least has a frame.

Don't you guys think there's a website out there that has reviews about 4x4's?
I guess I'll just keep searching, thanks
BTW, I'm 6'6" & 330 pounds and fit in the backseat of an Escape very comfortably!
