Let's talk trannies

No, I don't speak of transvestites, rather automatic transmissions. What is the deal with Ford trannies? If I shift the truck (99 SD v-10) into 2nd gear, it acts like the tranny is slipping from a standstill. I asked another Ford owner and he said that the truck would be in 2nd gear if I selected that particular gear. Now what bothers me about this is I have only had GM products and it made no diff. if I had the truck in OD or 1, 2, 3. Do Ford trannies really have this feature????

Yes, Ford trannies do.

If you put the par in 2nd gear (not D but 2nd) the truck will start out, AND stay in 2nd gear at all times. Its very good for slippery roads and things like that.
