then its a 2wd that was put in a 4x4 or its a 2wd to 4x4 conversion

i know this thread is super old, but my 1977 f250 has both the rear sump oil pan dipstick and front passengers side dipstick. both dipsticks show different oil levels with the front being in the safe zone and the oil pan dipstick being waaayy over, what one should i go with?

I would drain the oil, and do a filter change. Add six quarts of oil, and then see which one is right.

just did oil/filter change under 50 miles ago, up until now both dipsticks read safe which is the confusing part

are you sure that the dipstick is seated fully? that could be why it is reading lower on one.
