I have a 77 F-150 Supercab C-6 400. The current AT dipstick has a part number# E7TP-7A020-CA, which near as I can tell comes from an 1980 C6. I believe my truck needs a D7TZ 7A020-B. So the question is: Is my current dipstick giving me any accurate reading, or not. Are they essentially the same part?
I am having a similar problem. while replacing trans pan gasket(c-6 don't know year0 I noticed the dipstick looked sorta short, the part number is D5AP-7A020-BB
1975 LTD/Grand Marquis 400/460 & Thunderbird/Continental Mark IV 460 from production date 6/2/1975. 1976 LTD/Grand Marquis 400/460 & Thunderbird/Continental Mark IV 460.
Thanks, that solved my problem with the dipstick but i'm wondering if it belongs to this transmission. I bought the transmission because it has the small block bolt pattern I needed to go with the 351-w I have for the truck. All of the engines you listed are large patterns so that tells me this dipstick doesn't go with this transmission. my question to you now is what dipstick is correct and is there a way I can identify this transmission, thanks again.

The only way to properly ID what the trans is from, is from the ID tag.
Pic shows where it's located....but by now, it may be missing.
I was a afraid you were going to use the gazillion word, there's a junkyard about ten miles away from me with a lot of old ford stuff still laying around i'll see what I can come up with there. This engine/trans is in a 56 f-100 I sold the 57, top of tube ends up in a pretty much stock looking location, thanks for the info it helped.
I have a 1968 f100 with a 302 engine and not sure what transmission. The trani dipstick broke and is stamped D50p-7a020-bb and I've been unable to find anything that fits so far. Any help? I have looked at the transmission but I can't identify the serial number on it. I'm guessing a c4 but I'm not sure.
