Final English PPR Help

Ah yes, the final ppr for a college english class. For this one, the teacher wants us to wirte a letter to a govt body(up to NYS gov) and requst that a portion of $$ be set aside for something, either a building, park, street repairs ect. I chose mine to be a combination vetrans memorial/softball park. I will write it to the town of sullivan supervisor(my boss on the farm hahaha) and request that some money be put aside and convince him to build it. Since it was his idea to begin with he told me what he would want in it, but the teacher dont need to know that! Me problem is, teach wants prices for what I want to do, and I dont know how much a softbal park would cost!! The price would include everything from the land to the bases. I have no idea what something like this would cost and Im not sure who to contact to get a price estimate. So, what do you all think would be a fair price, I know there are ALOT of variables and things to consider but all I need is a starting point for prices. So far that is my only sticking point; I know what would be good about building it, how it would benefit the area and all that good stuff. If anyone could help me out a bit and give some prices for me to start at I would realy apreciate it. Sorry I havent been as active as I used to be but college and 2 jobs really dont leave to much time for anyhing else. Thanks guys!!

check with your town. I'm sure there's a ball park and a memorial built somewhere near where you live. Just go to the municipal clerk and ask to see how much things cost. They may make you look yourself, but it's public information, and I'm sure they have a record of what the park and/or memorial cost.

Do me a favor though- and use a spellchecker more often when you post. If necessary, download the google toolbar- it's got one built in. Don't get me wrong- I could read your posts just fine, but if you get in the habit of spell-checking everything, you'll find you need it less as time goes on. I've seen many fine papers get knocked down a grade just because of stoopid tpyos. (disclaimer: wife's a teacher)

yikes, that was a perty bad post wasnt it! Yea thank god for spell-cker, I have so many miss-spelled words cause I just start to type and ususally dont stop till Im finished. I wrote a letter to a few officials requesting a price quote. We'll see if they write back, else I'll just have to make up a price! Whats this google toolbar, where do I get it, seems I could use it!
