96 explorer center console computer

Hey guys, got a good one for ya!! I got one of the center console modules from a 97 limited and I want to put it in my 96 XLT. The truck I got it out of had a mysterious left low beam headlight out and I have read the fix about the lamp outage module and will adress that issue along with a couple others. My question is, can I get the console wiring harness from a limited and plug it into the harness under the console?? Are all explorers wired for this thing other than the different harness under the console?? Thanks in advance

I have the same question, I was wanting to put in one of the message centers in my console but saw that the wiring isn't there. Does anyone know if you can just replace the wire harness that goes between the front seats with one from a vehicle with the console message center and have it work.

If no one has ever tried this I may give it a shot to see if it works then I can post on my findings.

BTW I have a '98 XLT
