semi-float gears into full floater?

Can the 4L10 differencial, ring and pinnion from a semi-floating 10.25" axle be transfered into a full-floating 10.25" axle that currently has a 3.5? open diff.?

IF they are both the "Sterling" type 10.25 axle that Ford uses, I see not reason why they would not interchange. The axle type , full floating or not, does not determine gear type, it is the differentail case and carrier that does that.
