i was thinking more like a 93 swb ranger. yes lots of work to stiffen it but it could be done. in all reality i would just slap a windsor in it but hey why only shoot for 8 cylinders when 10 are so much more fun. how ever i must say that my friends samuri with a 306 in it is definently a beast
Hmm... '74 F100 with a V10 twin-turbo... heck, I woulda stuck one in my '74 highboy if the cab wasn't swiss cheese (see my sig).
since my 53 f100 has a bay long enough for a flathead six. you guys have me wondering now.it's long enough for sure. looks wide enough. o darn i like the sounds from a flathead and open pipes. guess it'll stay that way.
but i do wonder about some thing like that. a v10 with 3 on the tree.would have to be real easy on the gear box and the little 4:09 rear in it but it would be different.

why don't you just put 2 5.4l in there to make a v16, or do you think that might be a little bit overkill?

Put a motor (V10!) up front, and another one in the back, both tied into the output shafts of a 4x4 transfer case, and use the input shaft to drive the rear wheels
That way, you'd have at least a 2:1 overdrive - and with two motors, you should be able to break 200mph.

I saw a 46-49? COE at a car show a few years ago made into a single car carrier. On the rails was a beautiful Trans-Am Mustang, and oh let me tell ya, it was gorgeous. But the cab-over had it's hood open, and guys standing 4 or 5 deep around it. As I peeked over their heads (being 6' 5" has it's advantages) I saw a 6.8L V10 Ford peeking out from the half-sized hood. I talked to the owner builder, he was a little pissy that his 6 year, frame off resto on the Mustang was being ignored. He said all he did was stick a used V10 engine/tranny/rear-end in an old truck and everyone was going ga-ga over it.

i ran the numbers and with a 2:1 overdrive, a 2.73 rear ratio and a 305/45-18 tire you should be able to run 313.97. the same setup but with 3.73 gears would do 229.79. as far as pushing that much air goes, both those engines are gonna have to have some major torque cpabilities, but hey thats what turbos are for
