You will need a steeringwheel puller. It bolts into the two holes next to the steering shalt and the center stud of the puller pushes down on the shaft. Something to think about, the front end maybe out of alignment and a alignment shop can center the wheel with a ajustment.
If you do carry on trying to pull it remember if the wheel flies off, what is it going to hit first, I put my tooth through my bottom lip doing exactly that, now I use a rubber mallet and it will come off, nothing special about the wheel, it's just been on there some time.
Ok! I will try to nock It by hummer throught a piece of wood... About the center bolt: I will do only 2 turns CCW. It shold limit wheel's fly... Unfortunatly I have no puller, can you give me its picture...
By the way, my friend put the steering wheel on his neck and couldn't take it away, so we had to cut it.... It is not kidding.... Bu we had a good lough.

What was your friend doing to get his head stuck in the steering wheel?
And it sounds like one of those "funniest home movie" moments.
You can rent a puller for free at your local Autozone or you can buy your own I bought mine off e-bay from the seller issof1 for $24.99 + shipping pictured below.
I bought it because it included all the different size and length bolts so in addition to steering wheels I can pull harmonic balancers and crankshaft pulleys as well.
