Positive and Negative speaker wire?

On my 88 F150 I6 XL, I have a black/green and a black/white wire supplying voltage to the speaker on my driver side door. Which wire is positive and which is negative? My ultra handy chilton's manual only give wiring diagrams for engine bay. Thanks

Black/white should be (-) but I'm not 100% sure..

green usually is power... along with purpel or yellow

Thanks for your replies - it doen't matter anymore as I just replaced ALL the speaker wires for both doors

yes, i have seen green and purple leads in higher quality sterios... like my friends mach system

This is an 88 F150 not Mach or Premier sound or whatever they called it. I know they have colored leads like that on the premier factory stereos, but even then, the colors didn't match up.
