My dad built a tractor like that one. It was a 53 model chevy 1&1/2 ton truck cut down with tractor tires on the rear. It would hit about 60 before it began to lose drivabulity due to the water in the rear tires. I wish I'd kept the old thing. It was fun to drive.

I've never seen one of those with a flat 8. Seen flat 4s before. Is that a conversion? What model?

yes the flthead V8 is a conversion, looks neat though, bet it sounds nice. we've got a couple of classic ford tractors, a '46 2N bought new the year dad was born by my grandparents, and a '49 8N that belonged to my grandfather on my moms side, it has a backhoe and loader mounted on it.
