On My 99 F-150 My Lh Power Window Won't Go Down. When I Push The Switch For Down I Hear The Relay Click In The Fuse Block. I Have Removed The Door Panel And The Motor Is Ok. It Seems That The Motor Is Not Receiving The Reverse Ground It Needs To Operate. I Have Replaced The Auto Down Relay, However, No Luck. I Must Assume At This Point That It Is The Gem Module. My Right Hand Window Works Fine! Anybody Have Any Ideas?
The fuse is OK. Keep in mind that the RH window is working properly. Both windows use the same fuse. My thoughts are that the GEM module may not be sending the ground signal to the motor? I have a 97 F-150 with the same equipment, I'm thinking of switching GEM's to see if this solves the problem.
Check the wiring from the switch to the motor, then through the door into the cab. The wiring from the door to the cab flexes allot as the door opens and closes. Could be a broken wire. The wiring inside the door doesn't really flex any unless the clips that hold it in place have come loose and has been getting beat up by the window and finally broke there. Also check the harness connections to make sure they are all connected correctly.
I've checked the wiring, the motor wires both have current at the motor when the down mode is pressed on the switch. Also, every time I press the switch I can hear the express down relay click. This makes me think that the one wire to the motor is not receiving it's ground from the GEM module or whatever provides the ground.
haha on my 02 Lariat the switch was good motor was gettin power now way the motor was bad becaue so new so i got pissed and punched the door and now it works perfect. everyonce and a while it will stop agan so i hit the door and vualla it works haha
