Timing

My timing was advanced and I set it back a bit, I don't think that was such a good idea. Went to move the IP back and it won't go, will not turn back. Am I missing something here, my bolts are loose too.

It will be hard to move with the injector lines on . Haven't tried moving it myself with the lines still on , but have read that it is possible .

Not sure if your IP has the square block on the front of main body so you can use a wrench to assist with movement.......

Is it under the oil fill cover? I'll pop that off later today.

Not under the oil fill cover ! that is just the mounting bolts to the drive gear under there. The timing adjustment is all outside. loosen the 3 nuts. it is tuff to move the pump but it will go enough to make a difference. If you can get hold of a spanner wrench you can move it that way, the top to the passenger side to advance it. A little movement is a lot of advance.
