1460 lbs of Rock in the bed.

I know that it is not an F350 with 6000 lbs in the bed but, I have 1460 lbs in my 2004 heritage F150 with the base suspension beefed up with hellwig 991 overload springs. BTW the loader operator spilled gravel on my taligate will be 500 to repair.

1st pic is empty the 2nd is loaded.

Went to pick up some steel I made a deal on.Forklift op asked where my trailer was, I said it's goin in the F-150....confused look on his face.He picks up what I thought was 3 pieces 3/8 thick,6-1/2 ft long,5' wide but rolled(it came from a steel tank fab shop).
After it was in the bed and the truck settled down(quite alot) I counted 6 pieces, had a guy tell me that was about 2300lbs of steel. It hauled it like a Ford hauls a load...no sweat!!!!!
The Chebby and Dudge guys dont wannna here my story...believe it or not.

I can relate to the steel I saw a regular cab 2wd F150 weigh in at 7100 on the dump scale ahead of me today. I got a load of wood pellets for the winter today and took a picture of my F150 with 2100 pounds in the bed.

Haul a 6000 lbs+ trailer with out a peep. I acquired several furniture pads that I always take whenever having a load of stone, mulch, topsiol, etc. dropped on in. They are a must for a shortbed.

Nice ride.

Cool pictures. Been there , done that with about 2500 lbs of dirt in mine, was very suprised at how well it hauled it. If your into hualing alot, check out the air lift bags they have for these trucks. There a little pricy, but are adjustable and give a supreme ride.

Dave,

I know how you feel. It is almost alarming these days to see a privately owned light duty truck have anything in the bed except a couple of bags of trash. I see alot of trucks being worked hard as commercial trucks (almost all fords) .Around the eastern shore of MD I see lots of mommys driving 1 ton and 3/4 ton crews as the mommy mobiles. I think a nice Mazda 6 like my wifes would be more economical. I guess people like to flaunt there wealth.

The Mazda 6 is a good looking car
For most of the driving I do I could get away with just a Ranger or small car but to me it doesn't make sense to have something like that and also a bigger truck for when I need it for towing the race car, hauling the snowmobile etc. Around where I live we have more trucks than cars because of the driving conditions but I still think that most people could get away with small cars instead.
I'll stick with my F-350 V10 though
