hey. i have a 2001 SCrew and my driver side window has stopped working. i know that the motor is the problem. has anyone every replaced this part by themselves and could i get instructions if you have? or is it a better idea to go to an auto shop and have them do it?
It's not a really big deal to replace the motor.
Once you get the door trim panel, trim panel brace and water shield off you'll find 3 dimples that line up with the 3 bolts that hold the motor to the regulator. Drill holes where the dimples are. The manual says 3/4" but smaller will probably work. They only have to be big enough for a socket to fit through. Put the socket through the holes to remove the bolts that hold the motor on. Disconnect the wiring connector and then replace the motor and put it all back together.
thanks a lot racerguy. windows back up and running and i am no longer freezing cold driving on the freeway in the morning. i always get so much help here on fte, thats why i always keep coming back. thanks again!
