Maybe you guys can help me out with a question I have. I'm trying to figure out a tire size for my 1955 Ford Truck. I called the tire place and 2 people really could offer me no help other than "check out our website and figure out what you want"
I just got some new wheels for the front and rear, the stock 15's (5" wide) in front and 16"s in back (8"wide/4inch backspacing) on the front I'm just going to replace the front wheel and tire with the same size 205-75-r15. On the back what size would be good for a 16"wheel without looking like an offroad tire? Maybe like a roundabout sizewould help me, I asked the tire people for a suggestion and I got "Ummmmm, hmmm Ummmm...well we can get you low profile tires". I thought the rears would be 205-75-r16 but apparently thats wrong. I appriciate any suggestions/help.
You certainly could do 205/75 R16's out back if you wanted. They'd be and inch larger diameter than the fronts (approx 27" in front and 28" in back) with the section height remaining the same (distance between the wheel and face of tire). 225/75 R16 would be about 29" tall and would give you a slight rake, kind of depends on the look you want.
Is the 55 F100 or F250? those tires seem small in width for that truck. I had a 94 ranger splash one time i had a set of summer tires which were 275/60/15's which were sweet looking did not stick out but maybe an inch. Then had a set of winter tires it was just 2wd. Had At's up front then Mt's in the rear.
