rear end ratio question

I have an 87 Ranger with a 2.3L (little 4 banger) and auto tranny that I acquired from my little brother. He put a body lift kit on it and oversized wheels. The door panel says it had P205/75 R14 SL tires on it. Now it has 30 X 9.5 R15 LT tires on it. When he did this he did not change out the rear end gears to correct the drive ratio. I know this because of the gas mileage and the speedometer is about 6 mph incorrect. I would like to correct this by changing out the rear end gears but have no idea what size gears I need to correct this. Any help will be appreciated. Dan

rear end ratio question

you're not going to know what you need to go to unless we know what gears you have now. Chances are you have 3.45 or 3.73. Your best bet is to go with 4.10 gears. That will bring your performance up to stock, maybe even better.

Dan,
Dont forget you have to change the front and rear Ring and pinion if your truck is 4 WD.
