Tire height

I have 205/75D/15 tires on my trailer. I let some guys use it and one blew out. They put like a 215/85/15 or so tire on it and it leaked down alot. Went to tire shop and they only had a 205/70/15 car tire. I got it. Rather have a new tire than tow with a dry rotted one that could explode.

Will it be ok to run with my 75D tires? Yeah they are a little taller than my 70.

I plan to carry a vehicle to SC tomorrow and back.

Will I need to carry a spare also? Other tires are in excellent shape though. But....

I would at least carry a spare. Without some firm weight numbers from you I'm only guessing that your "car tire" will be carrying more weight than it's rated for.

I have a flat bed 18 ft car trailer that's gross weight is 8K. I'm not sure your car tire is rated for 2k?

Also depends on weight of load on trailer obviously. If you're taking an old VW bug with no motor there and back it will be less worry than if you're taking an intact 71 Lincoln town car there and back.

I always carry 2 spares for mine when I travel out of town, plus my 3 ton floor jack and over sized 4 way wrench. Just in case. I'm running radial trailer tires on mine.

Ok,

How much does your trailer weigh? How much does your Bronco weigh? When you add those 2 together, that is your "gross trailer weight". Does that weight exceed the gross weight data plate on your trailer tongue? If not, if you divide that gross weight by 4, is the number higher, or lower than the max weight listed on the sidewall of your tire(s)(check all 4 tires anyway)?

If the weight being loaded on that/those tires is more than they are rated for, I would not make the run. Borrow a trailer or get better tires first. I've seen lots of trailer tire blow outs and they can get pretty ugly. Most are caused by either under inflated tires, or over loaded weights.

Good luck and be safe.
