fuel gauge sending unit
Anybody else out there had trouble with replacement fuel tank sending units?
Guage worked fine until contact in sending unit broke off. Installed replacement from LMC that gave erratic readings. Returned it for replacement. New unit not cooperating. All tests indicate gauge OK. Tired of 5 gal. can of gas in bed. Help.

Check your Grounds...most common cause of erratic guages
The guage reads through ohms resistance to ground.
Check the small black wire from the unit to the back panel and the orange wire over the B Pillar and down the A pillar....this is a single piece to the guage and any rub through or bad splicing will monkey it up.
Second check the guage regulator on the back of the speedo assembly. This is the second most cause of issues.
