Taller Tires?

Taller Tires?
Hi everyone, This looks like an awesome forums site. This is my first post, and I've got a question that might be a little dumb. I bought my 05 X last night and think the tires are a little small for the vehicle. It is an XLT 4X4. Can I put taller tires on the stock rims without lifting the vehicle and making it look like I jammed the tires into the wheel well, or do I have to lift it?

I've put 285 Bridgestone Dueler AT REVOs on mine. They are a great tire and the bigger size fills in the wheel well much better. But some guys have gone to even bigger tires. Here in Maine, we can not increase tire size more than two notches if you ABS brakes, and no lifts either.

if ya hafta have bfg's i saw that they offer a 285 in e- rate, trouble is findin them, i still would walk over a set for revo's though!!

Thanks for the replies. It currently has the stock BFG 265/75R 16 tires. Approximately how much taller is the Revo tire?
