300 or so at the nozzle. Measured from a Garrett T03B @ 25 psi.

Do not use PVC. It WILL crack and blow apart. I plan on recording pre-cooler and post-cooler temps for the stock set up in December. The boots are siliconized rubber, big difference.

It won't handle the temperature.

I would probably agree with wrapping the down pipe but I think i would leave the intercooler pipes unwrapped so that they can expell even more heat from the intake charge it may not be much but every little bit helps (unless you find hte under hood temps are higher than the air coming out of the intercooler in which case wrap the line coming back from the intercooler)

I'm just trying to find a more cost efective way to go about it. I would love to do aluminiunm. but at $500 for a pipekit from gtsmotorsports It puts an IC out of my price range. Now ifI can get the cooler for $125 of ebay or some place. and make mt own pipes for $75.ish I'd be in bussness J

Go find a salvage yard and look through the aluminum. I have found a lot of aluminum pipe around Dallas. Anywhere from 2" OD to 5" OD.

It's more like a combination of the two. Heat and pressure will rupture PVC. Our electrical contractor bends PVC conduit at 290 degrees. So at almost any psi it would expand like a balloon and "pop".

Thin stainless or 10 grade steel will work too. Just have to paint it.

When my psd was in the shop Ford replaced the in pipe of turbo with a heat wraped one. They said there was a recall on the un insulated pipe. I have thought about getting some of that header wrap stuff for the down pipe though. I think it would keep it a little cooler in there. Only won't that keep the temps up on the turbo?

Why not go to a wrecking yard and pick up the whole intercooler and pipe kit from a post 98. I sure would hate to micky mouse the intercooler and suck something into the engine. Just not worth saving a couple of bucks. The preasure blows the stock pipes off let alone pvc. Good Luck. LPR
