As I was getting down to the heads on my '93 F-250, I had several of the small (1/16"?) vacuum lines that had becom brittle and snapped. Any suggestions as to the best way to repair these?
Thanks guys. Vman, by HELP section are you talking about the red bubble pack items in most parts stores? Heh I was looking all over the site for "help" section until it dawned on me. I'm a little slow tonight. I was also thinking about maybe using some heat shrink tube to mend at the break. The easiest and more permantent fixmight be to use Frederics idea, but I already dislike all the tubes running everywhere in the engine compartment. I do like the way Ford used the small nylon(?) tubing and then harnessed them together.

Yeah, I do like the multi-colored nylon vacuum hoses. I have a box of them from years of visiting junkyards. I see good ones, I grab them. But in leu of that, you can use ordinary, cheap vacuum hose from any auto store and solve the problem that way. You can also cut-to-fit which is neater looking. And if you really, absolutely must have color codes, wrap the ends of the hose in colored PVC electrical tape.
I googled "plastic tube" and found several sources and tomorrow I will look for some local sources. So far what I have not found is the rubber terminals.
