i was wondering has anybody ever replaced their factory cassette player with a factory CD player on an F150 (92 thru 96)?
i imagine you are wondering why i am wanting to replace a factory radio with a factory radio? i eventually want to get a 93 mustang, put the radio in there, and I would like to kinda stay factory...

you can put the factory cd in where the factory cassette was. I have done this in the past for a buddy. The harness is the same. No need to change any wires or anything. just pull the old one, and put in the CD deck. and your done. GL

dont know what year you are talking about but do you see 4 small holes on the HU (2 on each side). if so all you have to do is go to walmart or any store that sells stero equiment and buy the removal tool. its like 2 u shape tools. then insert them into the holes and pull them apart and pull out at the same time. It can be a pain, but it will come out with equal pressure on the two sides. if you need anymore help let me know. GL

yes, just buy the tool at wally world and then pick up a factory head unit for the same year as your truck and wam bam ur done. Everything fits just like if it came out of the factory with it. Might take u ten min max to install
