Factory radio replacement ?

Factory radio replacement ?
I have a 2000 f250 with factory cd player and wanting to upgrade to a later model with 6 disc and mp3 capabilities. Say a 2008 model. i assume the plugs may be different but other than that will they swap out? TIA

I'm not sure you'll find an OEM that is swapable with those.
When the MP3 capability came out, Ford had gone away from the locking mechanism that was used in 2000. At some point they realized how easy it was to lift those radios if you had the removal pins.
That radio will come out and disappear less than 10 seconds after the window is busted or the lock is popped.
