Radio Question

I have a 2004 X 6.0 with the factory dvd player. I was wondering if anybody has changed the radio for an aftermarket on and retained the DVD Player. I was told if you take the factory radio out the dvd player wont work with anything else. Thanks.

But it also makes sense that the DVD system probably doesn't need to rely on the radio to get to the speakers. Go to any car stereo place and they will make it work for you. they have to use a conversion peice that costs another $50.00 but it works well. I also had a dvd put into the front dash. I love it.
