I have a 2005 F350 with the integrated tbc, production date of 02/05. I plugged my multimeter in the back because it didnt feel like I was getting a lot of additional braking with the trailer hooked up empty and gain at 10. The lights and signal and power line out the plug on the back of the truck ran 14.28 volts, at a stop using the brake pedal or the tbc controller the brakes put out 4.6volts. I read that you don't get full voltage til over 15mph. so I climbed in the truck and held the multimeter and had my brother drive. At 40mph with gain at 10, if I switch the tbc I only got 6.9 volts. Shouldn't I be getting a full 12? I'm positive my ground was good and my numbers are right. Can anyone here measure there voltage output to compare to mine?
Dealer has had my truck for two days to tell me it has no codes. I said yea I dont care about codes I care about the voltage out the plug in the back and he then wanted to see the trailer. I said the trailer doesnt matter, all that matters is if its putting out the proper voltage or not. He said a guy from the factory looked at it to and found nothing wrong. He said he doesn't like it(the situation) but theres nothing he can do and I should call ford. Anybody here have any advise or have a phone number I can call and talk to someone who can make something happen on this?
I have a 2005 F350 too, but I haven't yet used the brake controller. I could take a few readings in the driveway if it might help and you have the pin-out. (My wife can't drive the stick).
