I have, in my possession, a two disc set for installing Windows XP Pro.
It has printed on one of labels the following:
ENGLISH
MICROSOFT WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL
x64 EDITION
May 2005
SERVERS
STUDENT MEDIA/WORK AT HOME MEDIA
NOT FOR RETAIL OR OEM DISTRIBUTION.
NOT FOR RESALE.
The second disc has on its label the following:
ENGLISH
MICROSOFT WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL
with SERVICE PACK 2
(product key required)-"which I have".
NOVEMBER 2004
SYSTEMS
STUDENT MEDIA.
I mentioned to a friend there is a "x64 Edtion" printed on one of the labels.
He thinks it's for a computer with a 64 bit processor.
My computer has a 32 bit processor.
Will these discs work on my computer, or did I waste my money?
Did you waste your money? Loaded question about buying MS software
You have in your possession 2 different versions of XP. You would need to use the second disc, and tuck the first one away for a rainy day, or until you get an x64 processor PC.
