I have a F350 2005 and need to get 2 wires through the firewall. Are there any factory wires in place already, that I could connect in the the cab to the engine compartment? I saw in a ford service bulletin Q108 about 4 pass through wires.are the wires connected to anything? I need 2 wires, one to a relay to power a winch and a second to power a relay for some ARB aux. backup lights.Suggestions Thanks
look on the drivers side by the brake booster.A bundle of wires are there as customer access wires you will find the other ends tied in a bundle under the dash.
Just watch the amperage you draw through them.

sorry to hijack the thread, but i would like to make holes to go through the firewall. my edge Attitude monitor cable, and the throttle position sensor on the edge system also. i currently have them going through the foam around the steering shaft, but as i turn the wheel, the cables get wrapped around the shaft and it makes it a pain to steer. is it OK to drill two holes through the firewall, and then put silicone or something around them to prevent leaking of some sort? thanks.
If you need to drill a hole, drill one large enough to accept a body plug. Then pull your wires through the center of the plug and silicone them. Just pulling them through the body will definately cause a short circuit.
Yea, there are 4 wires that go through the firewall. They are on the driver side by the brake booster as previously mentioned. The other end of the wires are under the dash behind the fuse box. They aren't connected to anything, just open wires on both sides. Hope that helps.
On my 06 there is an opening about three inches in diameter behind and up to the right from the emergency brake, it is taped over by some sort of factory tape. I just cut the tape and fed my wires throught the opening.
Use some type of plastic wiring harness to protect the wires, or use a piece of vacum hose split down the middle to make a rubber gromet to keep the firewall edge from scraping the insulation off of your wires. Then, seal the opening with some type of tape, I used waterproof tape made to seal duct work -not duct tape. You can buy it at Home Depot, it looks like aluminum tape.
