New wiring through firewall

Does anyone have any tricks to get new wiring through the firewall. I have a few projects in mind and will need to get wiring to the dash from outside. I think most of the wiring bundles are packed full. Thanks

You should have 4 customer access wires already there. They should be bundled right by the master cylinder.

Check my gallery for some pictures in the "antenna mount" section. I don't remember if there was an existing grommet there or I drilled a new hole but the last couple of pictures show a relatively safe location to bring wiring through the firewall.

Just above and behind the emer brake is an unused hole. You have to peel back the sound deadener. I think it is for a clutch setup so if you have an auto you can use this. Also, on the passenger side, just above the carpet line and right next to the kick panel is a rubber grommet.

If your running a power wire run a big one fused right off the battery to a distribution panel. That way you'll have all the power you'll ever need for future projects. I've used a heated up poker/welding rod to melt a nice hole thru the unused rubber grommets for a clean hole.

what truck or van or Ex are we working on????

Like said above 99 and up truck has 4 customer access pass through wires already there for you to use

CAUTION

Do NOT drill through a Ford truck fire wall unless YOU KNOW exactly what is on BOTH sides.... Ford put the customer access wires there because a LOT of owners were drilling through the fire wall into very expensive wire bundles or coolant lines

If you have an 04 or up you can adapt in the upfitter switch sets

on my 01 and on the 05 I found un used plug/grommet factory holes behind the passenger rise floorboard that went from the cabin into the engine bay same at the rear of the cabin to the outside in front of the bed

I am a stereo up-grader and a Ham radio operator. I spend a lot of time adding power, control, and antenna wires... I have not had to drill a hole in the last 7 years

Thanks guys. I'll check these out. Sorry Fredvon4, I'm used to my vehicle showing up in my signature or profile on other forums. I have a class A motorhome on an F53 chassis. To all, This firewall might be a little different than a regular truck although some of it is probably the same. I'll look into your suggestions. Thanks. Safe driving for you.
