Which engine

Just bought a 1986 Ford Mark III E-150 Van (Club type) and need to know how to find out the engine in it. Really uneducated in the mechinacal things. Comes from being female and no knowledge of engines. Please Help.

Silver, post your VIN number and some one can tell you what engine you have

My VIN is 1FDDE14N5GHC01365. Please tell me what engine I have.

Silver, I decoded this to a 5.0 liter 302 185hp built in Lorain Ohio. Hope this helps and this info is only good if that is the original engine

It is indeed a 302. Not original, but only 2 years old. Found a peice of paper under the seat that turned out to be a receipt for the engine and installation. Shall now begin to restore her. Thank you for the help.
