Hey i wonder if any of you guys ever hear of a PSD having a small not to loud single clunk on cold startup about 2 seconds of running , pop , then all is good. It still performs well and there is no smoke or bad starts just a pop. its never done it before and its bothering me. It does not do it all the time. What could this be. All fluids are good. Its a 2001 PSD auto 4x4 stock with 197567 on the clock, please tell me its not going to grenade. please help.
not the compressor! its the blend door in the heater system that is operated by vacum. when it gets enough vacum after startup it slams shut causing the niose you hear. so no worry it IS normal and is NOT your compressor.
is there any way to stop that? i hate it when my truck does it, maybe I should switch to decaf but it startles me sometimes. I can feel it throughout the floor board.

Do not turn on the heat or A/C. That will solve it. But then you gota deal with sweaty wet clothes, or chattering teeth.
I always turn a/c or heater to off, then turn truck off. After starting motor, then turn on a/c or heater. That solves the problem for me,unless I forget to turn everything off before staring up. Good luck
