I just bought a 05 F150 SuperCrew Lariat. When I put a mp3 CD with folders in it, it doesn't display the folder name. I just get like D3, does anyone know about this, or am I doing something wrong. I've tried different burners and the same thing happens
I don't have this MP3 unit as mine is an '04, but just remember this is an OEM head unit. Don't expect miracles. They rarely (if ever) provide high end technology, etc.

Ok, I checked it out again and the display reads D# F# T#, disc folder tracks, but is there a way to get it to display the folder name instead of the folder number?
This might be a silly question, but have you checked the owners manual to see if its even possible? Only other suggestion I have is to ask this in the A/V forum too. Good luck.
On the head unit there is a button that says text...should be on the preset 6 button...keep pushing it to get to the category you want, (Fi = File Name; So = Song Name; Ar = Artist Name) then when you get to say song name or something, hold the text button till it flashes the display. You have now set the default category the MP3 CD's will show when playing.
You need to make sure this information is actually in the file (song). On your computer, you need to check the properties of the file and make sure all of the song information is in the file. I know it is a little confusing, but in order for the CD palyer to display the information you want, then the information must be burnt onto the CD by the computer since the CD player has not way of identifying the songs. That is the only thing that I can think to check. All of my songs display their info and the folder name. The only thing that the radio is a little inconsistent on is displaying the artist and song correctly.
This radio is actually crap. My truck is an '04 and I replaced my stock unit with an '05 MP3 unit and it does not sound as good. I do not think it has the same amount of output power to the speakers as the '04 unit. I actually plan on replacing the unit as soon as possible.
It's not the artist display or song title. It's the folder name. I've found that the player is definitely not consistent in dispalying the artist, song title, stuff like that. But when I use a MP3 CD that has multiple folders, when I switch to a new folder it doesn't display the folder name, just F1, or F2, etc. I've read the ower's manual, read the online help. But there is nothing about this listed. But I put all my MP3s in folders according to album. I just wanted to see if anyone else sees that their MP3 player shows the folder name fully.
You're correct...when you use the folders buttons to switch to different folders, all you get is the folder number...you have to manually hit text to see the artist.
